In the film The Country Girl(1954) Grace Kelly played Georgie, a long suffering wife of an alcoholic actor, as her character started to lose illusion of future and desire of being beautiful, her outfits changed as well, and one of them was a cardigan sweater, a sort of granny styled cardigan: cable knit, long, slightly oversized, with cheap-looking plastical buttons.
